Job Purpose:
The Scaffolding Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, inspection, and safety assurance of all scaffolding structures on the project site. This role involves ensuring that all scaffolding work is carried out in accordance with local regulations, international standards, and project-specific safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Design & Planning o Prepare scaffolding design drawings and calculations as per project requirements and load specifications.
  • Review and approve scaffold designs submitted by subcontractors or scaffolding supervisors.
  • Provide customized scaffolding solutions for complex structural and access needs.
  2. Coordination & Supervision
  • Coordinate with project teams, construction leads, and subcontractors for scaffolding requirements.
  • Supervise scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling activities.
  • Ensure adequate resources and materials are available for scheduled work.
  3. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all scaffolding structures comply with OSHA, BS EN 12811, CISRS, OSHAS, or other relevant international/local standards. Conduct scaffold inspections and issue scaffold tags (Green, Yellow, Red) based on compliance.
  • Participate in HSE meetings and provide input on safe access and work-at height practices.
  4. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain scaffold registers, inspection reports, and handover certificates.
  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and work permits.
  • Assist in incident investigations related to scaffolding, if any.
  5. Training & Support
  • Support scaffolding crews and provide technical guidance as needed.
  • Ensure scaffolders are qualified and trained according to project standards.
  • Conduct toolbox talks related to scaffolding safety and safe work practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Certification in Scaffolding Engineering or Inspection (CISS / CITB / NASC or equivalent)
  • Scaffolding Design Certification (advantageous
  •NEBOSH/ IOSH or other HSE certifications (preferred)
  Experience:
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in scaffolding design and supervision in oil & gas, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of scaffolding materials, systems (cuplock, ringlock, tube & fitting), and load-bearing structures.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other design/drawing software is a plus.
  Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong technical and structural knowledge of scaffolding
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and risk management
  • Attention to detail and high safety awareness
  Work Conditions:
  • Site-based role; may require extended hours or weekend work
  • Must be physically fit to inspect scaffolding at heights
  • Use of PPE is mandatory
